Budgeting for Australia

In order to make my trip successful, I used google docs to budget.  Google Docs

I looked at what I would need to get prepared for my trip to Australia.  I needed to obtain a passport.  US Department of State  This was an easy site to follow instructions.  I was able to fill out the information online, print it, and take it to the post office for processing.

My friends and I found that Hawaiian air was a direct airline that flies out of Portland.  This is the easiest flight route.  Hawaiian Air

I figured that I would need about $30 a day for the 11 day trip for food.  I also budgeted for $1000 of spending money.  Since I will be staying with my friend, I will not need to incorporate lodging or transportation.

The next step was to look at my monthly bills.  My bills are pretty small, and there is not any there really is not any room to shift money around.  I have found that after getting out of this relationship I was in, my bills only include me.  They have gotten smaller now that I am not including someone else as well.  There is about a thousand dollar difference between my bills and income, so saving for this trip should not take very long at all.
